Supported Birth is the working name
of Gina Cox-Roberts, a doula and Natal Hypnotherapy
practitioner based in Shropshire and covering
Shropshire, the Black Country and border region.
I firmly believe that every woman
can have a magical and beautiful birth experience.
As a doula, I work with mothers and their partners
providing support, information and empowerment
before, during and after childbirth. With Natal
Hypnotherapy, I teach courses to expectant couples
so that they can use hypnosis themselves for pain
management, release from anxieties and increased
confidence in their birth.
Research studies from around the
world show that the use of hypnosis for childbirth
results in:
• shorter labours
• reduced use of pain medication
• higher Apgar scores (measurement of the baby’s
well being at the birth)
• reduced surgical delivery (Caesarian delivery and
forceps)
The Natal Hypnotherapy course teaches you how to
achieve the birth experience that is right for you.
Through the course, you will learn practical and
effective techniques to manage the sensations and
situations that you will be faced with during birth
and gives both the mother and the birth partner
effective skills to draw on when the time comes.
For those who would like
additional support for their birth, I also offer a
full doula service.
This includes one-to-one antenatal sessions, a
guaranteed presence at your birth, however long it
may last and a full repertoire of traditional and
holistic techniques to support you through late
pregnancy, during your birth and postnatally.
